This project is a part of another idea of ‘Distorted Fairy tales’, in which I try to break the stereotypical legends of fairy tales. Once upon a time, every child would be fantasising the ideal fairytale world. The royalties, the prince, the damsel in distress, the dream world of happily ever after. Often times we have seen the woman is described in details, how beautiful she is, how fair she is or even how her hair looks. On the other hand the man is described with a limited vocabulary. Makeup has always been associated with women whereas the characterisation is of a male character is limited.
Here is my take on the quintessential ‘Prince’ or the male hero of some of the fairy tales in context with modern day society. It is the 21st century and the metrosexual man is conscious about the way he looks. Why can’t man use makeup to add to his looks or hide his flaws or even express? The look and feel of a Frog prince, the brooding prince in Snow White, the monster from the Beauty and the beast and the carefree prince of Cinderella.
